How to place an order

1. Choose the name of collar or fabric from any of the Martingale Collar Fabrics pages
2. Next, choose one from each of the six categories below
3. Then email me or fill out the Collar Purchase Order Request Form (link to form in index on left side of page):

(1) Style (#1-regular martingale, #2-reducer martingale, #3-chain martingale or #4-tag collar)
(2) Width (3/4", 1", 1.5" or 2")
(3) Satin Lining Color
Choose from: black, red, orange, yellow, silver, gold, dark blue, med. blue, light blue, hot pink, med. pink, light pink, lavender, purple, white, brown) or contrasting/companion fabric lining color or fabric name
(4) Size (SM, MD, LG, XLG, 1XLG, 2XLG and 3XLG)(see how to measure below)
(5) Hardware (brass or nickel)(chain loop only available in nickle finish) and
(6) Embellishment (hotfix crystals, pearls, nail heads (silver or gold), pyramid studs (silver or gold), cone studs (silver only) or 'plain'= no embellishment), embroidery, designer fabric/ribbon.


Instead of filling out the form, you may alternatively: your choices so we can work out the final details. After which, I will send you a paypal that allows you to check out securely on-line with paypal or credit card. If you have something in mind but don't see it pictured, just ask! I may already have the fabric, or be able to source the fabrics/supplies needed to create the collar you are thinking of. Use your imagination and design the collar anyway YOU want!! If I am able to accept your custom collar request , please allow at least 5-7 business days to complete your order. You will be given an estimate of how long it will take to make your collar when I send you the paypal invoice.


Martingale & Collar Styles:

1 "Regular martingale" - control loop same thickness as collar- 1", 1.5" or 2" (Note: Some fabrics or ribbons cannot be made into a 1" width collar).

2 "Reducer martingale" - control loop is narrower than the body of the collar.
Available in 2" to 1", 1.5" to 1", 1.5" to 3/4" and 1" to 3/4".

3 "Chain martingale" - control loop is a chain. There is no extra charge for this style, however, it is only available in nickel not brass - 1", 1.5" or 2". (Note: Some fabrics or ribbons cannot be made into a 1" width collar).

4 "Tag Collar" - Over-the-head, slip on, adjustable tag collar, no d-ring. Tags hook to loop. Alternatively you can use a "boomerang" slide tag on a 1" collar. Available in 1", 1.5" and 2" wide. A (ribbon topped, unlined) B (fabric covered) or E (satin)linings only. (Note: Boomerang tag will *only* work with & fit over ribbon topped/unlined, fabric covered or satin lined 1" width collars).
1" grosgrain or velvet ribbon sewn to unlined heavyweight nylon is $16.00
1" satin lined tag collar is $18.00.
1.5" satin lined tag collar is $22.00.
2"  satin lined tag collar is $24.00.
Mini snaphooks are available in nickel only and are $1.50 each.

5 "Side Release Collar" - otherwise known as a 'regular dog collar'. 1", 1.5" or 2" (Note: Some fabrics or ribbons cannot be made into a 1" width collar).

Collar Sizing:
Using a soft tape measure (or use a string and then measure it with a ruler), measure three points:
A) circumference of the dog's head/face in front of the ears
B) circumference of the dog's head/ face in back of the ears
C) around the neck (where the collar will sit).
 

Since a martingale collar slips on over the dog's head, you need to allow for an additional 2 inches “wiggle room” greater than the largest head measurement. For example, if the largest measurement of your dog’s head (in front and/or in back of its ears) is no larger than 22" and the neck is same size or smaller, you would need a size XLG. If the largest measurement of your dog's head is no larger than 19" and the neck is same size or smaller, you would need a size LG. If the largest measurement of your dog's head is no larger than 16" and the neck is same size or smaller, you would need a size MD. If the largest measurement of your dog's head is no larger than 13" and the neck is same size or smaller, you would need a size SM.
(Note: collar makers do not all use the same sizing guidelines, so it's always a good idea to measure your pup each time before you purchase from anyone).

SM: 12"-15" (whippets or pups with no larger than 13” head”)
MD: 14"-18" (greyhounds or pups with no larger than 16” head)
LG: 17"-21" (no larger than 19” head)

XLG sizes are additional $5-$10 for extra materials and heavyweight hardware. 
XLG: 20"-24" (no larger than 22” head)
2XLG: 21"-27" (no larger than 25” head)
3XLG: 22"-30" (no larger than 28” head)

Proper Collar Adjustment:
Slip the collar over your dog's head and slide it up to the narrowest part of the neck (just behind the ears). Pull up on the D-ring. The two metal slides should remain approximately 2 inches apart as they come together. If they touch, the collar is too loose. Be sure to fit and adjust your collar properly and inspect often to look for frayed material or loose threads.



Hardware:
Nickel (silvertone) is standard hardware
Solid Brass may be available (solid brass, not plated & will darken with age)  Add $8-$10 for brass hardware


Embellishment:
(1) All collars are generally stitched with two (2) rows of contrasting top-stitching(at no extra charge). 

(2) Hotfix embellishments will be added unless specifically requested. Add $6-$20 (depending on quantity and placement for the following hot fix embellishments):
-crystals (name brand)
-pearls
-metal nail heads (gold or silver)
-metal pyramids (gold or silver)
-metal cone studs (silver)

(3) Prices for collars made from special ribbons (metallic, brocade or woven jacquard), out of print or designer fabrics (ie; Jane Walker and Jason Yenter) will be higher due to additional cost of materials.

(4) Custom logos may be digitized and/or stock embroidery designs can be added to your collar! Add $10-$16 for embroidery.
